Yesterday, I was a happy fangirl X)
Molly and I went to the late showing of the new Indiana Jones movie (*insert happy squee*)
and yes. i squeed. i can admit it, i'm an adult. u.u

I LOVED IT.
No, seriously. From the very get go with poor Indy shoved into the back of a trunk by a bunch of KGB jerks, I loved where it was all going from the get go.
Sure, Indy survived a nuclear blast in a fridge. and sure, he probably has cancer now since he was like, a hundred feet away when he got out of it. but that's ok. it's INDIANA JONES. It's like die hard, it's not supposed to make sense.

I could have done without Shia. Srsly, they didn't need him. Indy didn't need a son. It could have just been some kid to help him along the way just like in Temple of Doom. the vine and the monkey scene irked the hell outta me. unecessary. However, Indy's constant argument about his kids education was very geekily endearing.
Despite how little i liked the son in general though, the james deans vs the college frats was friggen HILARIOUS.

ugh, those damn ants. *shudders* what the hell man. I can watch people being ground up into pieces, stabbed, dismembered, puss and blood running from all sides with hooks, needles, and any other crap you can think of without even batting an eye...but when there are a billion GIANT fire ants eating people on screen...I'm stuffed from the eyebrows down into my sweater and sunk into the seat. molly was laughing at me so bad. dude...SO embarrassing. wtf.

now, i read no spoilers for this ahead of time. none whatsoever and SOMEHOW managed to avoid anything at all that told me what it was about aside from the skull thing and the city of gold.
so yah.
the alien thing was...weird. that kinda threw me for a loop. i'm still on the tripline about it all. sure, the first three Indy movies were strange, bizarre and occult-ish in general...but aliens? Ok, the time period was certainly right, along with the area itself considering what was all the craze back then...but it was still kinda...jarring.
although, i will say the big ufo coming out of the ground at the end i coulda done without.

i -was- happy to see john hurt doing what he does best, and he certainly helped the believability of the movie in general...but meh. Lucas has been stuck in the stars for far too long methinks.

all in all tho, i was very content with the overall movie. it was definately an Indy flick and i still love Harrison, even with all of the old jokes and his adorably grey head.
As soon as it's out on DVD. it shall be mine ^.^ i wanna see it in theaters again, but prices are crazy high. so since it took fifty bucks to fill my gas tank, splurges are a bit on the unreasonable side regardless ;.;

Am working straight til next weekend and am trying desperately to fit some kind of schedule in around it. not working all that well, but i'm getting there ^^; diet is back on, although i haven't really been able to afford going back to the doc so it's not as hardcore as it should be. don't get me wrong, i'm doing good, but i don't really have any of the medical help along the way :\ time will tell how well and how long i can do this myself.

My older bro still isn't speaking to me. he won't pick up the phone, or return my calls and i've heard nothing so far. which makes me both worried and sad. I've gotten james to try and help, but i can't predict anything yet.

randomly broke out my colored pencils the other night and suddenly forgot why i'd put them away in the first place *LOVES* man did i miss this medium.

i'm still generally in good spirits. here's hoping i can keep them. :3

oh! and if anyone's interested, more videos were uploaded from ACEN and this one just cracks me up regardless of how badly i'm getting made fun of XD we all went out to pizza in costume, and this is where all the phone jokes started. ;)
