So, yah...I just had THE most amazing day/night.
Seriously. This ranks up there with one of the most fabulously awesome days in awhile, and I mean, strictly in the sense that COOL SHIT WENT DOWN. LIKE WHOAH.

Went apartment hunting all afternoon, for one thing. which was great, if not something that needed to be done anyway, and there's this really awesome place in between Bailey's Crossroads and Seven Corners that both Christie and I really like. and may consider for good. still time on it tho, and more places to look, but still. i REALLY liked this place :3
that was the afternoon.

So i get home, exhausted, wet, still debating when i wanna drive up to hagerstown, and get on the computer only to find an email from a friend that I had made at Nekocon who was in my general area. He basically asked if I was free tonight and that he and his friends were going to see "My Name is Bruce" at the E-street cinema and had extra tickets. Would i like to come?

i SO wanted to go, but was tired, and have a hard time getting myself to go -anywhere- BY myself if i'm the one driving. so i was back and forth. Molly didn't wanna go, and that usually squashes it when it means i'm goin alone, but somehow...somehow i end up getting convinced to go anyway in the hopes that, possibly, Bruce Campbell himself will be there. Like the indy theater is promising because it's the premiere of his new movie.

So, i get there early enough, but the group I'm with doesn't. We end up going into the theater at almost the last minute and have to sit in the very front row spending most of the movie looking up Bruce's nose. (lol) but the movie was fantastically hilarious and campy in all the right ways. It's bad, dumb, and hysterical. Which is really what i expected anyway, so i enjoyed it a great deal.
Credits role, lights kinda go up, and everyone is still sitting there in the sold out theater when all of a sudden, there he is.
Bruce Campbell comes striding down the steps after announcing 'and then, everyone dies!' and all of a sudden i am the happiest person in the world to be sitting in the front row, as he was then four feet in front of me. XD and he was funny as hell. seriously, making fun of everything and anything in his usual cynical way. he gets through a couple of questions with snide remarks (as expected) and all i can think about, nervously, is how he's one of the big three names on the top of my 'List of People I Want to be Made Fun of' and that there HAS to be something i can ask him. i pull together my courage, think up something based on the nightly reports i read by [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda, and stick my hand up.

it takes just a bit, and that's ok, but finally, FINALLY he picks on me. thankgawd i didn't stutter. I started out with addressing him with an 'I heard rumors that the Evil Dead and Army of Darkness franchise is going to be brought back for a fourth movie...' where he promptly interrupted me with a 'oh you heard RUMORS? and where are your sources exactly?!' (to which i can already feel my face getting red, and am amazingly thankful that it was still a dark-ish theater) where everyone laughs before i continue with 'regardless, if this DOES happen, do you think you are going to continue with the role of Ash? Or are you going to pass the torch to the next idiot?' to which he grinned wolfishly at me and was like 'oh, i've never heard that question before' and started faking a sneak out. (another round of lols)

so he walks back, takes a second after laughing to himself and addresses the crowd with an 'ok, who's seen Indiana Jones 4?' to which there were some hands followed by an 'and who actually liked it?' which brought some applause but he quickly retorted with 'you're LYING!' (hahaha) before going into a great big diatribe of how Indy would go only five steps before hacking and wheezing like the old man he is, and that's exactly what Bruce would do as Ash at his age XD there was a whole lotta banter he followed it with acting out an old and cranky Ash (which i would totally watch anyway, no question) and just all around making fun of himself at the very possibility.

He continued by mentioning that Sam Raimi was very busy now with his Spiderman three and four that he's got on the way, (blegh) at which point i piped up with 'oh, and the Spiderman musical!' where he stopped dead and looked at me like i was crazy before saying 'wait...wait a minute, how do you know this and I DON'T?! How do you...WHO ARE YOU?!?!' and immediately went into a long winded, one-sided conversation about how he totally forgot that he was in D.C. and that EVERYONE IN D.C. WAS A GODDAMN SPY. complete with how he felt that d.c. citizens were far more conniving than anyone he's ever met in L.A. (mwahaha)

but i wasn't done X) i was on a role, and despite all that common sense told me that i should stop there, i took advantage of the silence after the laughter died by asking him 'so then, do you think you'd do another movie? or are you afraid that Sam Raimi is going to beat the crap out of you again?' to which the laughter started up again as he looked at me like he wanted to shake me. hard. XD he gave me this haughty smirk and started going on about these ridiculous sources (lol, it was announced at comic con. he was THERE) and the stupidest things he'd ever heard of and he was too damn old to be thrown around a set thirty years after the fact, bullshitting it on from there. (and oh, it's so fun to listen to him bullshit, it really is)

He never did answer my question. X)

after the q&a, we stood up from our seats and one of the guys in our group walked over to me and was like 'Dude, you were just baiting an argument with Bruce Campbell!' XD and i was like 'I KNOW, WTF. and he totally made fun of me for it!'
^______^!

so afterwards, the group of us left the theater and went to the hard rock cafe up the road where we stayed until like, midnight joking about the evening, arguing art, cons, comic books, tv shows and movies until we were too exhausted to do anything more than get on the metro. i picked up another hard rock pin while there cause, amazingly, it was one i was missing, and i just got home about a half hour ago. (it's like, 2 am)

i called my little brother on the way back and bragged. just for the sake of bragging since i know i'll never have this opportunity again. and amazingly, i now have two people checked off My List. a few years ago, i was made fun of by Kevin Smith, and now I've been made fun of by Bruce Campbell. Just you wait John Stewart...you're the last of my top three X) oh, it'll happen.
